I Caravan (Inglesi di Canterbury nel Kent) nascono nel 1968 dalle ceneri dei Wilde Flowers, in cui avevano militato Richard Coughlan (batterista)scomparso l'1 dicembre 2013 a Broadstairs nel Kent (28 km da Canterbury)Inghilterra, Pye Hastings (chitarrista/cantante) e i cugini Richard (bassista/cantante) e David (tastierista) Sinclair. Il primo disco della band si intitola semplicemente "Caravan" (1968) e passa alquanto inosservato, mentre circa un anno dopo i Caravan si fanno notare con il disco "If I Could Do It All Over Again
