The Flaming Lips sono un gruppo alternative rock statunitense, formato ad Oklahoma City nel 1983 e ruotante attorno alla carismatica figura del leader Wayne Coyne, che li fondò dopo aver rubato degli strumenti musicali in una chiesa. Il gruppo è noto per i suoi arrangiamenti psichedelici ed i testi bizzarri, oltre che per gli strani titoli di album e canzoni, come ad esempio Pilot Can at the Queer of God, Talkin' 'Bout the Smiling Deathporn Immortality Blues (Everyone Wants to Live Forever)
