Gli Animals sono stati una rock band britannica degli anni sessanta originaria di Newcastle Formatisi tra il 1962 e il 1963 quando Eric Burdon si unì al gruppo Alan Price Rhythm and Blues Combo. Il discreto successo riscosso nella città natale e gli agganci con il manager degli Yardbirds, Giorgio Gomelsky, li spinse a spostarsi a Londra nel 1964, giusto in tempo per essere inseriti nella "British Invasion". Essi si esibiscono cantando alcune canzoni del repetorio R&B (Jimmy Reed, John Lee Hooker, Nina Simone, etc).
