Otis Ray Redding Jr. (Dawson, 9 settembre 1941 – Madison, 10 dicembre 1967) è stato un celebre cantante statunitense di musica soul, la cui fama è legata soprattutto ai singoli «I've Been Loving You Too Long» del 1965 e «(Sittin' on) the Dock of the Bay» uscito postumo. Redding nacque nella cittadina di Dawson in Georgia. Quando aveva cinque anni la sua famiglia si trasferì a Macon, sempre in Georgia. Cantava nel coro della Chiesa Battista
