Mel e Kim sono state una coppia di cantanti inglesi che ha raggiunto il successo alla fine degli anni ottanta. Il duo era composto dalle sorelle Melanie (11 luglio 1966 - 18 gennaio 1990) e Kim Appleby (28 agosto 1961), nate da padre giamaicano e madre inglese. Nel 1985 sono state notate a ballare in un night club di Londra, ed hanno avuto così la possibilità di firmare un contratto con la Suprema Records, sotto la guida del team di produzione di Stock, Aitken & Waterman, diventando note col nome Mel & Kim.
