Lisa Shaw's music career expanded when she arrived in New York City from Toronto. Shaw received a friendly welcome to New York City by people in the underground electronica/house music communities. She debuted in 1995 with a single titled, "Makin' Love Makin' Music", written by DJ Smash. After it became a hit in the underground, she released many more singles and collaborated with several productions, a few collaborations with Shaw's husband, DJ Swingsett and most notable, producer/songwriter,Miguel Migs.
