Chubby Checker - nome d'arte di Ernest Evans - (Spring Gulley, 3 ottobre 1941) è un cantante e cantautore statunitense, famoso per avere dato origine al twist. Iniziò come cantante di Rock and roll. Nel 1960 lanciò un pezzo di Rock dal ritmo nuovo: The Twist, che raggiunse subito un enorme notorietà. Il suo brano più importante e che lo ha reso più famoso è Let's Twist Again. Si è sposato nel 1964 con Catharina Lodders, che era stata Miss Mondo nel 1962.
