Gli Anthrax sono un gruppo Thrash Metal Statunitense, fondato a New York nel 1981 dal chitarrista Scott Ian e dal bassista Dan Lilker. Sono noti come i capofila del loro genere, insieme ai Metallica, i Megadeth e gli Slayer. Primi successi (1984-1990) I fondatori del gruppo sono Scott Ian e Dan Lilker, rispettivamente chitarrista e bassista. Successivamente entrano a far parte della band il batterista Charlie Benante e il chitarrista solista Dan Spitz.
