Watchtower, fondé en 1982 à Austin (Texas), est un groupe de Métal progressif américain aussi associé au techno-Thrash ou Thrash technique. L'album Control And Resistance obtint des critiques excellentes. Ainsi il fut nommé dans le "Top Ten Shred Albums of the 80's" de Guitar World où l'on peut y lire: Sounding like the twisted scion of Metallica and the Mahavishnu Orchestra, WatchTower was the most brilliant weird band of its time.
