The foundation idea of the Swiss Metalcore-Group Breakdown of Sanity was built in spring 2007, when guitarist and songwriter Oliver Stingel began to write new songs at home after the breakup of his former band Paranoia. Shouter Carlo Knöpfel, also known as the guitar player of a band called Nerph, has soon catched the potential in the way Breakdown sounded and quickly decided to be a part of it, with realising some of his ideas.
