Visions of Atlantis is an Austrian symphonic metal band formed in Styria in 2000. The band was reportedly influenced by the Finnish symphonic metal group Nightwish, the myth of Atlantis, and in later years a recurring pirate theme in several albums. Visions of Atlantis was formed in August 2000 by Werner Fiedler, Thomas Caser, Christian Stani, and Chris Kamper, who developed a concept inspired by the legend of Atlantis. Later that year, mezzo-soprano Nicole Bogner joined the group
