Symphony X is an American progressive metal band from Middletown, New Jersey. Formed in 1994, the band consists of guitarist Michael Romeo, keyboardist Michael Pinnella, drummer Jason Rullo, vocalist Russell Allen, and bassist Michael LePond. The group is known for combining progressive metal with elements of classical music, symphonic arrangements, and power metal. The band achieved commercial success with albums such as "Paradise Lost" (2007) and "Iconoclast" (2011).
