Iceland's Purrkur Pillnikk was perhaps most notable for featuring vocalist Einar Orn and bassist Bragi Olafsson, who went on to much greater fame as founders of The Sugarcubes. Formed in 1981, Purrkur Pillnikk took both their musical style and attitude from arty, cynical English minimalists like Wire and The Fall. Within the seventeen months they were together, the prolific band released two 7" EPs, including their debut, Tilf (recorded a month after forming)
