Experimental electronic producer Neupink began as Skullz in 2018, creating instrumental cloud rap entirely by smartphone. With the release of 2019’s Dirty Pink, Skullz began a stylistic shift into the world of digital hardcore, electro-punk defined by Atari Teenage Riot in the 1990’s that saw some underground resurgence in the 2010’s with artists like Death Grips and Machine Girl incorporating the style into their music.
