About

Guv (formerly Young Guv) is Ben Cook, a Canadian-British musician who transitioned from the 2000s hardcore/punk scene into critically acclaimed indie and power-pop. Originally he played guitar in the Toronto hardcore band No Warning and later the punk experimentalists Fucked Up. Recently he decided to rebrand himself from Young Guv to simply "GUV", his music evolved from raw garage rock to jangle pop, country, and British '90s-inspired breakbeat pop. In 2026 he released the acclaimed album Warmer Than Gold.
