Coin locker kid was a project begun by a group consisting of three people, which eventually dissolved and became the solo project of Devyn Smith, with everything after The Lars Demos representing a connected story of a kind of awakening. Devyn's story and discography ultimately grew to encompass two additional aliases, these being C'est la key and Come look with me, across a total of 20 works. (As of a 2025 post on his Instagram, Devyn has wished to use "Coin locker king" instead of Coin locker kid
