Aki Rissanen

Aki Rissanen, b. 1980, is a Finnish pianist and composer. Although classically trained Rissanen has always had a heart for improvisation and jazz. His group Warp! released its first album in 2005, and 2008 saw his first solo effort La Lumiere Noire. The album was released by a newfound Finnish jazz label Ilma ('Air') which collaborates with the French label AEON. Rissanen is a member of numerous Finnish jazz ensembles, including the prominent UMO Jazz Orchestra.
