Martha Rose

Martha Rose was born in Camberwell, London in July 1987. She lived in Devon, Yorkshire and Brighton with her mum, listening to the Dubliners and old ballet music. She began playing music about aged 7, when free violin lessons were offered at her school. She played in various string ensembles, orchestras and quartets, until beginning her first work in a band as fiddle player when she was 16. She continued to work on country and folk fiddle playing for two or three years, joining several bands in Brighton.
